Mentoring Matters - Issue 3, 2024

27 September 2024

Welcome to the third issue of Mentoring Matters for 2024, our quarterly newsletter!

It’s been a dynamic and rewarding term for Standing Tall in Hamilton, with our dedicated team working tirelessly to support our growing program. We’re thrilled to share some of the highlights from Term 3, which has seen our organisation continue to flourish.

This term, we processed 6 new student referrals and welcomed 16 passionate new volunteer mentors into our Standing Tall family. Welcome!

Each week, 70 students and their mentors have been building meaningful connections during their school-based mentoring sessions.

Our volunteer mentors collectively contributed 400 hours of their time this term—an inspiring increase from 293 hours in Term 2—while our students showed up for an impressive 452 hours, up from 343 hours last term.

Together, students and mentors engaged in fun and creative activities like making slime, cooking meat pies and dumplings, and even crafting magical potions! Term 3 was especially memorable as we hosted our Community Celebration evening, sharing exciting news about our growth and impact. We also launched our Together, We Thrive! regular giving program and unveiled our new strategic plan, which will guide our continued success.

None of this would be possible without the incredible generosity of our donors, all our volunteers, and our school partners, whose unwavering support fuels our mission to provide impactful school-based mentoring.

We hope you enjoy this issue and join us in celebrating the amazing work happening in our community.

Happy reading!
